Thursday's Golden Knights-Blues game postponed due to COVID-19

The Vegas Golden Knights won't host the St. Louis Blues for a game on Thursday evening.

On Thursday afternoon, the NHL announced that the Golden Knights-Blues showdown has been postponed after one player and an additional member of the Golden Knights coaching staff were placed in the NHL's COVID-19 protocol.

Additionally, Vegas' training facilities were immediately closed down and will remain closed until further notice.

The Knights lost to the Blues on Tuesday when Vegas was without all regular coaches after a member of the staff recorded a positive coronavirus test. General manager Kelly McCrimmon and coaches from AHL affiliate the Henderson Silver Knights were behind the bench for that contest and were slated to again coach Vegas on Thursday.

The Blues will head back on the road for a short trip to play at the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday and Sunday. Vegas is next scheduled to face the San Jose Sharks on Monday, but the status of that game is up in the air.

The Sharks will "host" the Knights at Gila River Arena in Glendale, Ariz., on Monday and Wednesday if Vegas is cleared to play.
