Tomas Hertl unsure if he wants to remain with Sharks?

It appears Tomas Hertl is not keen on remaining with the San Jose Sharks.

Hertl was recently interviewed in the Czech Republic, where he openly expressed reservations about whether San Jose is considering handing him a contract extension and whether or not he wants to remain with the franchise.

Via Kevin Kurz of The Athletic:

"I wonder if San Jose will want to re-sign me, and if I'll want to stay there," Hertl told iDNES.cz. "I don't want to think about it so it doesn't negatively affect me. I'll start the season and see how it turns out."

Hertl has one year remaining on his contract and will be a free agent if he doesn't sign an extension with the Sharks. If he remains unsigned by the trade deadline, San Jose could look to move him.

The 27-year-old has spent his entire eight-year career with the Sharks, tallying 323 points (151 goals, 172 assists) in 503 games. He had 43 points (19 goals, 24 assists) in 50 games last season.

San Jose has missed the playoffs the last two seasons and could make several changes next season if it continues to struggle, which means Hertl and more could be on the move.
