Leave it to a couple of first-comers to get into trouble even before their trip begins.

The St. Louis Blues are embarking on their annual dad's trip Saturday starting with a game Sunday afternoon against the Chocago Blackhawks and finishing it off Tuesday against the Minnesota Wild.

And already, Ed Neighbours and Jim Perunovich are in trouble.

Well, not really, but with dads invited into player meetings prior to practice on Saturday, it seems that the rookie dads were late, which is a no-no.

"Yeah, they were late," joked Blues coach Craig Berube. "I fined them 100 bucks each. I haven't got the money yet though. I'm waiting. I might have to collect from the kids."

That would be forward Jake Neighbours and defenseman Scott Perunovich, who is going to have a talk with his dad.

"He's already late for the first meeting so I'm going to have to talk to him about that, try and get him under control," Perunovich joked. "He's already been with Ed Neighbours. Those two were late for the meeting, so I'm sure those two are going to be getting into some trouble this weekend. Have to put some bells on those two."

Jake Neighbours had an explanation, or at least the best one he could think of.

"They were taking a tour of Centene, I guess," Neighbours said. "I don't know what they were doing. I had to call him and get him in there for the meeting. Nothing like me."

No word yet on if the dads were able to get their sons to pay the fine!
