Two NHL betting angles for Wednesday night

We have just four games today in the NHL, and the board isn't as enticing as it typically is. That's not a bad thing in my eyes, as it helps to clear the way for the spots that look best. Here's just two looks for this Wednesday on the ice.

Edmonton-Chicago over 6.5 goals (+104 FD)

I love this spot tonight. Both teams are allowing north of 3.5 goals per game in their respective locations, and the night's expected goalies, Jack Campbell and Petr Mrazek, are both allowing over 4 goals per start this season.

We also have the best game for power-play chances. Both teams bring us an elite pairing of getting penalized plenty and then struggling on the PK. I expect some PP scoring tonight to help our cause, and the names in particular to look at in that regard would be Patrick Kane, Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl.

These two met at the end of the October and finished with 11 total goals. The over has exceeded 6.5 in five of their last six meetings.

Chris Kreider & Patrick Kane over 2.5 SOG (+173 CZR)

We'll opt for a shot parlay today on two spots that look real solid, but if you're not a parlay person, both are solid options at 4+ shots when that market opens, and I'll be on each of them to score tonight as well.

Chris Kreider has been much better on the road this year, going over 2.5 shots in nine of 11. Last year against Ottawa, Kreider finished with 5, 4 and 5 shots. Ottawa is one of the most penalized teams in the league at the moment, and Kreider is up there in PP shots for New York. Kreider had three goals in three games vs Ottawa last year.

It doesn't make any sense at all for Patrick Kane to be available for us here at 2.5 shots. By all means wait for alternate lines and take this guy for a straight unit at 4+. Kane is over 2.5 SOG in nine of ten and has 4+ in five of his last six.

Edmonton is a great shot target and especially so for those who operate on the PP. Check that box emphatically for Kane. His last four games vs Edmonton? Kane had 4, 5, 6 and 6 shots. Kane is over 2.5 in 17 of his last 19 vs Edmonton and has 4+ shots in 12 of those games. Great option for a goal today too, he has one in two straight vs Oilers.

.5u: Kreider goal (+160 CZR)

.5u: Kane goal (+215 CZR)
