Two NHL player prop SGPs for Thursday, Jan. 11: Oil's well that ends well
We split our point SGPs yesterday in the NHL, but we're sticking in this market to attack what is a massive 13-game slate on the ice.
By all means, remember to consider either team to simply hit their team total, if you'd rather not touch certain players.
Zach Hyman & Ryan Nugent-Hopkins points (+106 DraftKings)
Getting this at plus-money feels like it shouldn't be allowed, so try to keep this one on the down low. Zach Hyman and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins skate on Edmonton's top line, the two wings surrounding Connor McDavid, the best player in hockey.
They also are on the top power-play together, so these two should be on the ice plenty tonight. That could come in handy against a Detroit team allowing 4.2 goals per game at home over the last month.
Hyman has seven points in his last four games, while Nugent-Hopkins has nine points in his last 10 and five points in his past two against the Red Wings.
Mika Zibanejad & Adam Fox points (-110 DraftKings)
New York looks to be set for a power-play goal tonight, and I for one feel best about these two getting in on the fun. Now, I will happily take this as an even-strength goal, but the presence of both of these men on the Rangers' top power play gives me the confidence to pair them together like so.
The Rangers are scoring a power-play goal at a 25% rate over the past 20 days, good for the ninth-best mark in the league. St. Louis is killing power plays at just a 73.3% clip, the eighth-worst in the NHL.
New York has seemingly loved to score on the power play against the Blues, notching a PP goal in five straight meetings.
Adam Fox has a power play point in four straight against St. Louis and seven total points in those games. As for Zibanejad, he has 13 points in his last 10 games and a point in two straight against the Blues.
