Tyler Yaremchuk and former NHL goaltender Carter Hutton talk with former NHL enforcer now Sportsnet analyst Luke Gazdic about the Winnipeg Jets trade deadline addition of Tyler Toffoli.

Carter Hutton: Moving on to the Western Conference we talk about Tyler Toffoli and what he has added to the Jets here, he’s got four goals in five games and when you look at how he has fit in there already, do you think that’s enough to help the Jets get through the Western Conference?

Luke Gazdic: I think so. I’ve been hearing more and more things about the Jets and there was a player who came out as anonymous who said that he didn’t think the Jets were as good as they are hyped up to be but when I watch the Jets play hockey they are another team that is going to be super tough to beat. They walked into Madison Square Garden last night and beat a really good Rangers team with Shesterkin in the net.

Luke Gazdic: Toffoli on that second line with Ehlers and Monahan has really clicked, with four goals in his last couple of games. I will say it was against subpar opponents in Anaheim and Columbus but you put up goals and that’s sometimes all a team needs, a little bit of offense and getting your new guys situated. I know it’s old news but Monahan has been great, playing that bumper spot, powerplay and a veteran guy. But I think we are starting to see the Toffoli that they thought they were getting when they acquired him and that’s just a pure goal scorer and sharpshooter. Let’s give some flowers to Colin Miller as well, 500 NHL games, a good Sault St Marie boy, and made it to the Stanley Cup Finals before and a conference final with Dallas as well, the Jets made some really good moves at the deadline.
