The Foley Entertainment Group, the parent company of the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights, announced that it acquired AFC Bournemouth of the Premier League from its previous owner, Maxim Demin.

Among the minority ownership group is actor Michael B. Jordan and business partner Nullah Sarker, with the pair helping with the team’s global marketing efforts.

Bournemouth currently sits 14th out of 20 teams in the Premier League with a 4-4-7 record, including four losses in the past five games. Known as the Cherries, Bournemouth was promoted from the EFL to the Premier League after finishing second last season.

The Foley Entertainment Group’s holdings include the Golden Knights, the AHL’s Henderson Silver Knights and the Vegas Knight Hawks indoor football team. Foley’s group is also partnered with the NBA G League and has been involved in various sports arenas in the Vegas area.

“In Bill Foley, we are now led by a highly successful and committed individual with an impressive track record in business and sport,” AFC Bournemouth CEO Neill Blake said. “We are delighted to welcome him, his family and his partners to the club. We are in no doubt that AFC Bournemouth is in very safe hands as we look to cement our position in the top division in the coming seasons.”

Despite an offseason that saw the departure of Max Pacioretty to trade and starting goaltender Robin Lehner to long-term injured reserve, the Golden Knights have managed an incredible season, currently sitting first in the Pacific Division with a 20-9-1 record. Vegas missed the playoffs following an injury-riddled 2021-22 season, the first time the club has missed the postseason since launching in 2017-18.

However, the Golden Knights are in a bit of a rough patch at the moment with a 5-5-0 record in its past five games.
