The Vegas Golden Knights provided updates on the injury statuses of wingers William Carrier & Michael Amadio and goaltender Adin Hill ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Colorado Avalanche.

The Golden Knights announced that Carrier, 29, underwent surgery for an upper-body injury on Wednesday, which was successful and will have him out on a week-to-week basis for his recovery. He’s been out of the lineup since January 4th’s 4-1 loss to the Florida Panthers.

Carrier has had a frustrating season in 2023-24, as amongst missing several games due to other injuries, he has just 5 goals and 2 assists for 7 points in 33 games. That puts him on pace for 17 points in a full 82-game season, which would be his lowest point total in a non-shortened season since 2018-19.

The Golden Knights also announced that Amadio, 27, will miss Wednesday’s game due to an illness. While there’s no idea as to how long it will keep him out, it will likely only be this upcoming game against the Avs. The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native has only missed one game so far this season.

Amadio has had a career year in 2023-24, as he has 6 goals and 11 assists for 17 points in 39 games. He’s already one point away from tying the second-best season in his career, and is on pace to easily surpass it with 35 points in a full 82-game season.

Additionally, the Golden Knights announced that after expecting Hill, 27, to play in Wednesday’s game, he will remain unavailable to the team. He has played just one game since November 30th due to a lower-body injury, starting once on December 17th but then getting hurt again. The Golden Knights have gone 8-7-1 in 16 games since the Comox, B.C. native has last been a regular in the lineup.

Hill has continued where he left off from Vegas’ Stanley Cup run in the 2023 playoffs and is having a stellar season, with a 10-2-2 record, a .933% save percentage, two shutouts, and 12.92 5v5 goals saved above expected in 15 games.

In response to Hill’s sudden unavailability, the Golden Knights have called up Isaiah Saville on an emergency loan. Saville has a 4-3-0 record, a .914% save% and one shutout in 7 games in the AHL with the Henderson Silver Knights.

The Golden Knights will look to build off of Saturday’s 5-2 win over the New York Islanders when they host the Avalanche on Wednesday. They currently have a 23-12-5 record, which is good for second in the Pacific Division.
