Anze Kopitar's goal 2:07 into overtime gave the Los Angeles Kings a 5-4 win over the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday night at Rogers Place in Edmonton.

The Western Conference first-round series is tied 1-1 with Game 3 Friday at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

Kopitar, who tied Luc Robitaille for most playoff games in Kings history (94), picked up a carom off the boards for a partial breakaway and beat Stuart Skinner high on the glove side.

The Kings' 36-year-old captain also had two assists.

"I expect it out of him, to be honest," Los Angeles defenseman Drew Doughty said on TBS after the game. "... Honestly I had that feeling that it was gonna be him tonight to win us the game."

Doughty, 34, also scored. Adrian Kempe had two goals and Kevin Fiala supplied the other Kings tally.

Dylan Holloway scored twice for Edmonton, including the marker that tied the game 4-4 3:23 into the third period. Zach Hyman and Brett Kulak got the other Oilers goals.

Los Angeles held Edmonton's superstar duo of Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl to an assist each.
