Watch: NHL brothers commit matching penalties against each other during game

Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Pierre-Olivier Joseph and Ottawa Senators forward Mathieu Joseph are brothers who had a chance to play their first NHL game against each other on Friday night.

That set the stage for one of the funniest moments of the 2022-23 season when they committed matching high-sticking penalties against each other on the same play.

Their parents just watched in disbelief.

As it turns out, Mathieu should not have even been penalized as P.O. Joseph hit himself in the face with his own stick.

That did not sit well with Mathieu, via ESPN. "I don't know if they thought this is going to be funny or something that we're both going to get a penalty at the same time. But stuff happens. I'm sure my parents had a good laugh about it, but I didn't think it was funny.''

The Penguins ended up winning the game by a 4-1 margin.
This also brings back some memories of the time the Primeau brothers, Keith and Wayne, actually got into a fight during a game back in the 1997 season
