Watch: Penguins' Sidney Crosby drops the gloves during preseason tilt vs. Sabres

In a sign that the NHL preseason might be too long, Pittsburgh Penguins star Sidney Crosby dropped the gloves during Friday's dress rehearsal against the Buffalo Sabres.

Late in the second period, Buffalo forwards Peyton Krebs and Tyson Jost laid a heavy hit on Penguins defenseman Kris Letang, sandwiching him to the ice. Even though Jost did the most damage, Crosby took exception with Krebs, instigating the bruhaha and earning an extra minor penalty for his troubles.

While Crosby's actions were admirable, and becoming of a player donning a "C" on their sweater, surely the Penguins would rather he keep his gloves on.

Crosby scraps are few and far between, so enjoy this one. Unofficially, this is Crosby's ninth fight on NHL ice. According to the database at hockeyfights.com, Crosby's last donnybrook came in 2019, taking on Pierre-Luc Dubois of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
