Arizona Coyotes defenseman Travis Dermott talked about his 14-game absence, welcoming a new baby to his family, the 4-1 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, upcoming roadtrip and more.

Because of an upper-body injury, Dermott made his return to the Coyotes last night after him being out since Nov. 9.

Then on Dec. 6, he also had his return up in the air after welcoming his new baby boy named James to the world.

Eventually, the Coyotes went out to warm up before the game versus the Flyers, and Dermott was seen on the ice participating.

This would lead to him making his long-awaited return to Arizona’s lineup after missing the past-14 contests.

There, Dermott had 13:33 time-on-ice, 1 shot and a plus/minus rating of zero.

When recapping the loss to Philadelphia, Dermott admitted it was a difficult game for his team to create opportunities and score, but wants them to remember all the success prior to this result.

“It’s tough to stay in a 60-minute hockey game when you feel like you are battling for offensive opportunities,” Dermott said. “They (Flyers) were coming at us pretty hard.”
