San Jose Sharks forward pending unrestricted free agent Anthony Duclair is ranked No. 26 on Frank Seravalli’s trade targets board. With the Sharks forward plotting home 16 goals this season and closing in on 20, his name has picked up some traction in the trade talks ahead of Friday’s NHL trade deadline.

Duclair is in the final year of a three-year, $3 million AAV contract he signed with the Florida Panthers in 2021. The Panthers traded Duclair to the Sharks on July 1, 2023, in exchange for Steven Lorentz and a fifth-round pick.

Frank Seravalli gives his insight on what the market would be like for the speedy Sharks forward who is looking for a change of scenery.

Tyler Yaremchuk: Anthony Duclair is coming off a four-point night last night for the San Jose Sharks. He has a cap hit of $3 million and is probably one of the more attractive pending unrestricted free agents on that Sharks roster that they could trade. Is there any sort of market for Duclair, Frank?

Frank Seravalli: I think it’s a limited market, I mean the speed is always a factor and teams are always interested in that. But it’s been a tough go this season for Duclair and I think he would be one of the first to acknowledge that. The fact he has gotten up to 16 goals and is closing in on the 20-goal threshold, probably what you’re looking at is a return not all that different that you just ended up seeing Florida pay for Vladimir Tarasenko in terms of what goes back.

Frank Seravalli: Duclair is certainly interested in a change of scenery and as one of those guys that is on the hunt for the next contract, to be able to go somewhere and go on a big playoff run would really help with that, that’s the thought process.
