There is a big possibility that Adin Hill will not be the starting goaling going into the playoffs. Hill was very good in the playoffs last season and also has the best playoff save percentage with at least 10 post season starts for active goalies. So why is it not a no brainer that he should be the guy in net for the Golden Knights to start the playoffs?

That would be because of the play of Logan Thompson. Both Hill and Thompson have almost identical stats. Thompson posted a .908SV% with a 2.70GAA while Hill posted a .909SV% with a 2.71GAA. The only really difference between the two is durability. Thompson played in 46 games and Hill only played 35.

There’s a feeling that the Golden Knights should go with Thompson initially and there’s others that they should go with Hill due to his playoffs experience and success. Thompson is playing better as of late and would be worthy of getting the nod. But Hill is a champion that understands what it takes to win it all. Who does Head Coach Bruce Cassidy decide to go with, the hot hand or the experienced hand?
