The Minnesota Wild have beefed up their forward corps acquiring tough-guy Nic Deslauriers from the Anaheim Ducks.

According to DailyFaceoff’s Frank Seravalli, the return is a third-round draft pick.

Deslauriers, 30, joins the Wild after spending the last three years on the West Coast. He’s appeared in 61 games this year with the Ducks scoring five goals and 10 points while racking up 90 PIM.

According to hockeyfights.com, Deslauriers has dropped the mitts 10 times this season.

Drafted by the L.A. Kings in the third round of the 2009 draft, Deslauriers never played for them and was instead traded to the Buffalo Sabres where he spent the first four years of his NHL career. He joined the Montreal Canadiens in an October 2017 trade, spending two years with the Habs, before joining the Ducks in a 2019 deal.

Over the course of his 486 NHL game career, he’s scored 41 goals, 41 assists and notched 498 PIM.

According to PuckPedia, Deslauriers carries a $1 million cap hit and is a UFA at the end of this season.
