According to multiple sources, the potential reasoning behind William Nylanders mysterious absence from The Toronto Maple Leafs has to do with migraines. The migraines are so bad, that team doctors tested Nylander for a concussion.
In 2022, Nylander switched to a tinted visor and told the media the reasoning was due to migraines he had suffered the previous year.
With Nylander missing games 1, 2 and 3, but taking the morning skates, even more questions have been raised. Boston has a 2-1 series lead on Toronto as the Leafs gear up for game 4 on Saturday.
Today on Daily Faceoff Live, Frank Seravalli shined more light on Nylander’s absence.
Frank Seravalli: Let’s talk about William Nylander and that injury he is dealing with. It’s really murky, I was told over the last two days it’s a concussion but the Leafs aren’t certain and he hasn’t officially been diagnosed with one. He has been experiencing some concussion-like symptoms with migraines, and sensitivity to light and those are all concerning things that he’s just not quite right and not playing.
Frank Seravalli: There was some talk it was a tweak or a soft tissue injury I think we can conclusively say we can say it’s related to Nylander’s head, a possibility he could play in game 4, but no guarantees.
