Calgary Flames fit checks to start the 2025–26 season

In August, the NHL dropped its archaic mandatory dress code. Players are now allowed to dress in outfits that are “consistent with contemporary fashion.” This doesn’t just include going to and from the game, but also on and off the plane. Who wants to wear a suit on a cross-country flight anyway? The Calgary Flames are a fashionable bunch, but some have shone more than others.

Mr. 1000 himself

Nazem Kadri has consistently stunned in walk-in photos since arriving in Calgary. He exudes confidence and composure, and his 1000th game was no different. The blue is kind of unexpected. It’s a great choice, but one might expect him to go with a red or yellow combo to represent the Flames. In all honesty, the blue was the right call. The silver pocket square with blue edges ties it all together.

Casual Friday Frost

The most important part of fashion isn’t just looking good. It’s being comfortable. Morgan Frost nailed it. A simple white t-shirt paired with a comfortable-looking jacket and a beanie is what it’s all about. You’ll probably see four other guys dressed like this on your way to the game. It’s clean, comfortable, and well coordinated. Good job, Frost.

Red carpet ready

Now this is not something you’d see on your way to the game. Unless you’re on the Flames red carpet, of course! Rasmus Andersson is another player who has some great outfits. He’s not afraid to step out of the traditional colours and step into the bold jewel tones. Andersson is a flashy player on and off the ice. This is definitely a contender for look of the year.

Honzek is still bejewelled

Sam Honzek has a flair for fashion. He is consistently well-styled, well-groomed, and put together. When you look good, you feel good. When you feel good, you play good. We’ve seen that in Honzo’s efforts thus far. Could we see Honzek make a run for best dressed Flame if Kadri is traded?

Comfort is key

If you are going for comfort and style, look no further than this Harvey the Hound crewneck. It rates 10/10, no notes. I want this in the team shop yesterday.

Hungry like the Wolf

A common theme is that Dustin Wolf always has a drink in his hand. Sometimes you might find a little snack too! Wolf has some of the best suits amongst the goalies. His powder blue one is consistently in rotation, but this checkered burgundy number beat it out. It is tailored and fits him like a glove. The navy tie and pocket square do their job, complementing the burgundy. He should give his tailor’s phone number to his teammates.

Honourable mentions

Kevin Bahl is one to keep an eye on. He always looks sharp.

I’m obsessed with the difference between Joel Farabee’s gym teacher fit and Justin Kirkland’s charcoal looks.

I am a big Matt Coronato fan. If he has no defenders, then I am dead. This green suit is great. It’s simple but makes a statement. Now that he’s not sleeping on an air mattress, maybe he can invest in a stylist to keep the fits coming.
