The ECHL has named Utah Grizzlies goaltender Dylan Wells as the ECHL Goaltender of the week for October 20th-26th. In his only game last week, the 27-year-old goaltender pitched a 46-save shutout against the Idaho Steelheads. During his first appearance of the season, he stopped 33 of 36 shots in a loss to the Atlanta Gladiators. He is currently signed to an American League deal with the Tucson Roadrunners . This is the first time a member of the Utah Grizzlies has won this award since the 2023-24 season, when Garrett Metcalf was named Goaltender of the week for October 19-22, 2023. Wells also won this award during the 2018-19 season.

The St. Catharines, Ontario, native is in his eighth season in the ECHL, having played with the Wichita Thunder, Norfolk Admirals, Idaho Steelheads, Allen Americans, and Utah Grizzlies. In 107 ECHL Games, Wells has a record of 50-42-9 with a 3.58 GAA, .898SV%, and two shutouts. He has also seen 70 games at the AHL level, where he’s gone 29-26-8 with a 3.16 GAA, 898SV%, and two shutouts. His only playoff experience came during the 2019 Calder Cup Playoffs when he was a member of the Bakersfield Condors. The Former fifth-round pick of the Edmonton Oilers in 2016 has already made his NHL debut, stopping 12 of 13 shots in a period of play with the Chicago Blackhawks on November 5th, 2022.
Prior to going pro, Wells spent four seasons in the OHL with the Peterborough Petes. In 162 games with the Petes, he went 69-73-18 with a 3.65 GAA, .898SV%, and two shutouts. He went 8-3-1 with a 2.51 GAA and .930SV% during the 2017 OHL Playoffs. The Petes would go on to win the OHL Gold Cup in 2017 as well.
