Evander Kane 'stunned' over no-call on Zdeno Chara hit
Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

The NHL will investigate a hit by Zdeno Chara on Evander Kane Tuesday night that left Kane “stunned” over a lack of a call.

During the third period of the Boston Bruins’ 4-1 win over the San Jose Sharks, Chara nailed Kane with a shoulder to the head.

Kane was ticked off after the hit and corralled Chara, forcing the Bruins defenseman to fight.

Kane got an instigator and misconduct penalty on top of losing a one-sided fight to Chara.

After the game, Kane called Chara’s hit a “classic headshot” and said he was stunned over the lack of a penalty call. Chara said he was bracing for a check that never came.

TSN’s Pierre LeBrun says NHL Player Safety will be looking at the hit.
