The Pittsburgh Penguins shared a lighthearted team update ahead of their NHL Global Series game in Sweden. The Penguins are set to face the Nashville Predators at Avicii Arena in Stockholm.
On their official X account, the team posted a photo of every player, including captain Sidney Crosby, relaxing together in a spa. All players were wearing matching Happi coats, smiling, and some were holding white towels.
The post was captioned, “Spa mode activated .”

In a Media availability before the global series game, Crosby talked about the European culture and fans' passion.
"I mean playing at world championships and getting to experience that," Crosby said about hockey in Europe." Obviously, it's a lot of pride for people's countries, but when you have the opportunity in this situation, I think people just appreciate the chance to see NHL games up close... there's a lot of passion for the game, and that's uh that's really fun."
Meanwhile, the Penguins started the 2025-26 season well with an 8-2-2 record, but have struggled recently, losing four of their last five games. They currently hold a 9-5-3 record, sitting third in the Metropolitan Division.
Crosby leads the team with 11 goals, while Evgeni Malkin has 21 points. Pittsburgh’s power play ranks first in the league at 35.7 percent, while their penalty kill stands at 84.3 percent. However, defensive issues and inconsistent goaltending have caused problems in recent games.
Crosby, now 38, continues to lead by example with 20 points in 17 games. After missing the playoffs for three straight years, he remains focused on returning to postseason play. In April, Crosby said missing the playoffs “is not a fun feeling”. And for that, he and his team will need to return to their form.
As the Penguins prepare to face Nashville, the team will hope the relaxed mood in Sweden helps them find their winning form again.
