The Arizona Coyotes actively are looking for a new general manager after John Chayka stepped down from the club in July, and they recently have interviewed a former player for the position.
According to NHL Network's Craig Morgan, the Coyotes have interviewed Sean Burke for the open general manager position:
Per league source, Sean Burke has interviewed for the Coyotes GM position. Burke was Hockey Canada’s GM from 2016-2019. Burke, who lives in the Valley, served a combined 12 years in the Coyotes organization as a player, asst. coach, in development roles & as an asst. to the GM.

Burke currently is a scout and goaltending consultant for the Montreal Canadiens, but is intertwined with the Coyotes organization. He was Arizona's netminder for five seasons and has worked with the club as an assistant coach, assistant to the general manager and director of prospect development.
Burke also was interviewed for the Florida Panthers general manager position before they hired Bill Zito to replace Dale Tallon.
Arizona also reportedly has interviewed Jason Karmanos and NBC Sports analyst Pierre McGuire for its open GM position.
