The red-hot Wild entered Tuesday night with four wins in their last five games. After two shutout periods behind a 1-0 lead, the Sharks added a third-period goal to force overtime, and then quickly stole a win at Grand Casino Arena.

After a 2-0 win over Calgary on Sunday, Minnesota had another low-scoring affair against San Jose. The first period was scoreless. Filip Gustavson saved five shots on goal, and the Wild couldn't convert one of their eight.

Matt Boldy finally broke the ice just over five minutes into the second period with his ninth goal of the season, which was assisted by Mats Zuccarello and Zeev Buium.

The Sharks didn't go out without a fight. They finally got past Gustavson with just over 10 minutes to go, which ultimately forced overtime in a 1-1 dog fight. It took only 2:40 in overtime for San Jose to find the back of the net.

The Wild led 29-18 in shots on goal, but struggled to get past Yaroslav Askarov, who saved 96.6% of the shots he faced. Tuesday was their fourth overtime loss of the season, with only one overtime win and one shootout win on the season.

Now 7-8-3, Minnesota will have a four-day break before hosting Anaheim on Saturday night. Puck drop is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT for that game.
