U.S. Olympian Darian Stevens shares POV video during opening ceremony

The Olympic opening ceremony is always a fan favorite of viewers around the globe. The beautiful, cinematic experience not only officially kicks off the Games, but signals to those watching worldwide the importance and cultural significance of the event.

The 2022 Winter Olympics began with the opening ceremony at Beijing National Stadium, which became the first venue in history host the opening ceremonies for both the Winter and Summer Games, as it held the festivities back in 2008 as well.

While fans at home certainly were entertained by the spectacle, nothing can compare to being there in the middle of it all yourself. Luckily for those of us who aren't world-class athletes, one U.S. Olympian captured the view.

Darian Stevens, a skier from the United States, posted a point-of-view video of her walking into the ceremony with her teammates.

The ceremony took place early in the morning in the United States, but was re-aired during American primetime. The Games will continue through Feb. 20.
