Former Cavaliers coach and longtime NBA analyst Mike Fratello won’t return for broadcasts of the team’s games on Bally Sports Ohio, he confirmed in a text to Joe Scazlo of Crain’s.

“I received a phone call from Bally’s TV channel and I was informed that they would not be using me for the Cavs’ games this season,” Fratello said. “They said they were going with Brad Daugherty, Austin Carr and Campy Russell.”

Fratello, 76, was used for selected games over the past several seasons, both during the game broadcast and on Bally pre- and postgame shows.

He said he will still continue to work select games for the Clippers, as he has done in the past. Fratello has also been a regular in-studio analyst for NBA TV.

Bally Sports will continue to use Carr and Daugherty alongside play-by-play man John Michael.

During games that Daugherty is used, Carr will work in the studio with Cavaliers Live host Cayleigh Griffin. When Carr is working games, Campy Russell will continue to be on the studio show.

All of that is the same as last season — with the exception of Fratello, who coached the Cavs from 1993-99.

Serena Winters will again serve as Cavs/Bally sideline reporter.
