Thiago didn’t look like a natural fit for Jurgen Klopp’s heavy metal midfield, but the Spaniard eventually proved what a world-class addition he was to the Reds.
Unfortunately in football, we cannot appreciate a top quality player without hyperbole creeping in, and talkSPORT do tend to be the main offenders of it.
In this case, English footy legend Tony Cascarino has made an appearance on-air and said something quite ridiculous about Liverpool’s midfield maestro.
Cascarino has claimed that there has NEVER been as gifted a player in the Premier League as Thiago. We’re not joking, listen for yourself.
Thiago is a brilliant player and deserves commendation, but nonsense of this nature oftentimes forces fan opinion back the other way.
Perhaps we ought to have predicted that the annual Liverpool love-in would begin eventually, but before the start of the season is all the more nauseous.
