Browns' Myles Garrett on Patrick Mahomes injury: Nobody on team was head hunting

Patrick Mahomes was forced to exit the Kansas City Chiefs divisional-round win over the Cleveland Browns when he suffered a concussion in the third quarter.

The former MVP suffered the concussion while attempting to run on a third-and-one play when Cleveland linebacker Mack Wilson tackled him, twisting his neck and head in the process.

Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was angry with how the Browns defense reacted to the play, pushing Browns defensive end Myles Garrett to make a statement before beginning his postgame press conference.

"I want to say that nobody on our team is head hunting, going after guys or trying to hurt a guy, no matter how good he is," Garrett said, according to Daryl Ruiter of 92.3 The Fan. "We are praying for [Mahomes'] recovery and praying for his success. He has always been a quality guy and the way he does stuff for the community. He is a leader on and off the field that you appreciate seeing, especially from a guy of that caliber and just always trying to be a positive force everywhere he goes."

Wilson tweeted to Mahomes after the game, telling the quarterback he hopes he'll be able to play next week against the Buffalo Bills. Mahomes responded, saying "All good brother!"

Mahomes completed 21-of-30 passes for 255 yards and one touchdown before exiting. He also had three carries for 14 yards and a score. The Chiefs won 22-17, but the margin likely would've been larger if Mahomes was able to finish the contest.

If he's unable to compete against the Bills, Chad Henne would be in line to make his first career playoff start.
