Colts QB Carson Wentz misses practice again, status for Titans game in doubt

Indianapolis Colts starting quarterback Carson Wentz vowed after he missed Wednesday's practice to "throw the kitchen sink" at treatments for the sprains to both ankles he suffered in last Sunday's loss to the Los Angeles Rams as he hopes to take the field this weekend against the Tennessee Titans.

Thus far, there's no sign Wentz's recovery is going well.

According to Jelani Scott of the NFL's website, Wentz was absent from practice again Thursday, putting his status for Sunday's showdown with Tennessee in doubt.

When Wentz was sidelined last month after requiring foot surgery to repair an issue, Indianapolis coach Frank Reich heavily suggested backup and 2020 fourth-round draft pick Jacob Eason would serve as his temporary starter until the team's QB1 was cleared to return.

However, reports surfaced earlier in the day that practice squad signal-caller Brett Hundley "took the majority of starter reps in practice" Wednesday, and that both Hundley and Eason could feature against the Titans if Wentz is ruled out.

For now, it seems Wentz will be a game-time decision, at absolute best, and also that Reich may not name a starter, at all, before kickoff in Tennessee.
