Buccaneers QB Tom Brady responds to trainer's comments about Bill Belichick

In a recent interview with the Boston Herald, Tom Brady's trainer, Alex Guerrero, claimed New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick treated the seven-time Super Bowl champion like a "20-year-old kid," even when he was in his 30s and 40s.

While meeting with the media on Thursday, Brady responded to Guerrero's comments, reiterating that he enjoyed his time with the Patriots but is now focused on his career with the Buccaneers. 

"Great respect and admiration for my time there," Brady said, according to NFL.com. "I had 20 great years there. I kind of spoke that the last 18 months. …

"Everyone has protective feelings and emotions as friends and family members, and that's just part of being in sports. And you have a lot of people who because they're not out there, they want to protect, and it's a very caring and loving thing that a lot of people do. From my standpoint, I had a great time (in New England), but really my focus has been on trying to be the best that I can be for this team. Trying to go out and be a winning quarterback, be a championship-level quarterback for this organization because they certainly deserve it."

During his interview with the Herald, Guerrero also said that everything about the Buccaneers organization is "great," from the coaching to the management and ownership, insisting that it's the perfect spot for Brady at this point in his career. 

For the record, Brady seems to really be enjoying his time in Tampa. He's become a much more open, personable player since leaving New England and is even playing some of the best football of his career despite being 44 years old. 

The three-time MVP is 2-0 this season and has completed 65.1% of his passes for 655 yards and nine touchdowns against two interceptions. He's now just 13 touchdown passes away from throwing more TDs in his 40s than he did in his 20s, which is incredibly impressive.
