Bills GM Brandon Beane 'sick to my stomach' over Chiefs loss

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott admitted on Tuesday he'd watched the defining moments from Sunday's heartbreaking overtime playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs "over and over in my head a million times, in my stomach a million more" and also added he will "continue to watch it in my mind and in my gut for years." 

Bills general manager Brandon Beane spoke with media members on Wednesday and offered an apology to Buffalo fans who still haven't gotten over what they witnessed several days ago. 

"I'm sorry that we didn't get it done," Beane explained, according to The Buffalo News. "I'm sick to my stomach that we lost the other night."

Unlike McDermott, Beane isn't yet keen on reliving what occurred en route to the Bills turning a 36-33 lead with 13 seconds left on the clock into a 42-36 defeat. 

"I haven't slept much. I can't watch it right now. I'm not in a good spot. There's a lot of pain in this city, and there's a lot of pain in that building over there," he remarked. 

Beane and company lost more than just a game and an opportunity to advance to the Super Bowl this month. Assistant general manager Joe Schoen left the Bills to become general manager of the New York Giants, and both offensive coordinator Brian Daboll and defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier could soon be hired elsewhere. 

Beane's mourning period had better be brief if the Bills are to be back playing meaningful football again 12 months from this week.
