Jaxson Robinson declares for NBA Draft

Is Robinson now off the table for Kentucky?

When Mark Pope was hired by the Kentucky Wildcats, Jaxson Robinson was immediately mentioned as someone who could also make his way to Lexington.

Well, that doesn’t appear likely at the moment.

On Tuesday, Robinson declared for the NBA Draft. The announcement made no mention of a potential return to college.

“I will be pursuing my dream and declaring for the 2024 NBA Draft,” Robinson wrote. “I am looking forward to this next chapter of my life and what God has in store for me.”

Robinson began his career as a class of 2020 signee of Texas A&M, then transferred to Arkansas (2021-22) after one year before landing at BYU (2022-24), where he’s spent the last two years.

This past season, Robinson averaged 14.2 points on 42.6% shooting from the field (35.4% on 3-pointers) to go with 2.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.

If Robinson is merely testing the waters, he has until May 29th to pull out of the draft.

Kentucky remains without a veteran backcourt option next season.
