Eagles get more secondary help with Jaire Alexander trade

The Philadelphia Eagles continued to load up on secondary help in advance of Tuesday's NFL trade deadline by acquiring Jaire Alexander from the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday afternoon. It is the second cornerback addition this week by the Eagles after having previously acquired Michael Carter II from the New York Jets

In exchange for Alexander, the Eagles and Ravens agreed to a swap pick that sees the Eagles send a 2026 sixth-round pick to Baltimore with a 2027 seventh-round pick going to Philly.

Where Jaire Alexander fits in Eagles defense

Even though the Eagles have two of the NFL's best young cornerbacks in Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper Dejean, depth had become a serious concern for their secondary. Especially as it related to their No. 2 outside corner position opposite of Mitchell.

The Eagles are hoping that Alexander might be able to help secure that position.

Alexander was a two-time Pro Bowl selection during his peak with the Green Bay Packers. He signed as a free agent with the Ravens this summer but has been limited to just two games this season.

The Eagles are on their bye week this weekend, which means Alexander's first game with his new team could come next Monday against the Packers.

The Eagles are allowing 23.1 points per game this season (18th in the NFL) and 215.1 passing yards per game (also 18th in the NFL).
