Is there already a major trade suitor for Anthony Davis?

The Dallas Mavericks' season hasn't gone as planned.

Jason Kidd's team is off to a 6-15 start, and with former GM Nico Harrison no longer on the premises, it might revisit its roster.

Per Ashish Mathur of Dallas Hoops Journal, Anthony Davis isn't expected to stay in Texas much longer, with his hometown Chicago Bulls as a potential trade destination.

"Davis was born and raised in Chicago. The future Hall of Famer is expected to get traded after the Mavericks fired Nico Harrison as general manager, sources told DallasHoopsJournal," Matur reported.

Bulls reportedly keeping tabs on Anthony Davis

Of course, this isn't the first time that Davis and the Bulls have been tangled up in trade rumors. He's been a dream target in the Windy City dating back to his days with the New Orleans Pelicans.

For the first time, however, it sounds like a realistic possibility, as ESPN insider Jamal Collier points out that they have had internal discussions about trading for him, since they believe he "could help the team's porous rim protection and defensive interior."

Then again, Collier also adds that the Bulls aren't interested in breaking up their young core to acquire Davis or any other veteran.

The Mavs would be wise to build around young star Cooper Flagg now, and even though Kyrie Irving will eventually return, this is looking like a lost season.

Davis will always come with durability concerns for whoever trades for him. But given his impact on both ends of the floor, he's most definitely worth a flier.
