It's official. After teasing local skiers, Mount Bohemia, Michigan, announced yesterday that it would reopen this Saturday through Monday thanks to the arrival of fresh snow.

The resort will have four areas open come Saturday—Front Side, Pirates Cove, Haunted Valley, and Grave Yard—with several others to be decided. Mount Bohemia's conditions report notes that skiers should be wary of "obstacles." Twenty-five inches of snow have fallen at the resort in the past week.

The resort hasn't shared what its operating hours—if any—will be beyond Monday.

Mount Bohemia initially closed this season on March 3rd due to a lack of snowfall and warm temperatures. It was the resort's earliest closing date in history. Usually, Mount Bohemia remains open until late April.

Looking ahead, the forecast looks mostly snowless for Mount Bohemia, which could prevent a sustained reopening. The resort relies entirely on natural snow, meaning it can't lean on snowmaking when the precipitation stops.

Extended or not, though, Mount Bohemia's reopening is worth celebrating—good on the resort for remaining steadfast during a challenging season.
