Ski resorts across the country are extending their seasons thanks to plentiful snow throughout the month of March.

Kirkwood Mountain Resort, located near South Lake Tahoe, CA, is joining the trend and has announced that they're extending their season by two weeks through Sunday, April 28. See below.

The season started off slow at Kirkwood, but winter seemed to kick into high gear at the start of February. Most of the Tahoe area has experienced above-average snowfall since, and the mega-storm that dumped 80+ inches has base depths running deep.

Kirkwood has totaled 327 inches of snow this season. Not bad, but still below their seasonal average of 354 inches. That could change over the next week as a flurry of storms are expected to drop 3+ feet of new snow on Kirkwood, according to OpenSnow.

Winter '23/'24 won't be remembered in the same vein as Winter '22/'23, but this season has still produced fantastic conditions with ample snowfall.

Check out the video below of the mega-storm hitting Kirkwood three weeks ago.

It's odd that many resorts decide to extend their ski seasons around this time each year (if you know, you know), but why question their marketing motives?

Bonus skiing is bonus skiing no matter which way you slice it.

If you frequent Kirkwood, it's time to celebrate! Your ski season was just extended by a whole two weeks. Start making plans to take off work, and avoid all of life's pesky responsibilities, if possible.

Have fun, and stay safe out there, friends!
