Moment, the "biggest little ski company" based in Reno, Nevada, released their own snowlerblades--and they are already sold out.

In a post to X (twitter) the company posted a photo of four skiers wearing Moment snowblades with a fresh coating of pow under KT-22, Palisades Tahoe's iconic lift. See below.

Moment wrote, "sold out in 11 minutes. Thank you all for playing." With a chipotle and a banana, because these are the chipotle banana snowblades.

The chipotle banana design is actually a full-length ski, which is still available.

The chipotle banana snowblades have a 9.7 turn radius, wider tip and tail (at 116mm compared to the snowblades 99cm waist), giving them a practical float with some bite to them, too (because although the Shane McConkey ran on a powder day this year, is that really the best conditions for snowblades?).

They are made with a bamboo wood core, bamboo sidewall, and have a carbon base. They also have dampening technology, which we're sure is useful for snowblades, being such a unique feel as it is.

One comment on the snowblades reported that they were fast and fun on groomers, but heavier men may sink a little bit in powder (also, with a 99 waist width, this barely qualifies them as a powder ski for west coast skiing).

The original chipotle banana, in comparison, has a 122 mm waist width, making it a certified, floaty ski for deep powder days.

Its turn radius is also significantly larger, at 30.5 m for the 178s, to 35.5 for the 193s.

The ski is fully rockered, something often found in powder skis because of the surfy quality and less "catchy" feel. There is an inverse relationship to anything (rocker and camber, in this case), so I definitely feel like it makes sense to have one true powder ski with full rocker and a very, very wide waist width, and then one ski with bite and a narrower width to carve with. Because let's be real, who wants to spend time carving on a good powder day?

Rocker was essentially invented in 2002 (kind of crazy it was that recent) when the late Shane McConkey came out with the Volant Spatula, based on the positive attributes of water skis.

It feels like things came full circle with a Moment snowblade, designed for Palisades Tahoe powder skiing (okay, not specifically, but they're local to the resort). And we all have McConkey to thank for powder skis.

As Shane McConkey said, "if you don't do it this year, you'll be one year older when you do." That doesn't apply to Moment anymore.
