The week ahead is going to bring several light to moderate waves of snowfall to the Tetons from Monday to Friday. Snowfall will slowly ramp up by midweek also impacting the Pacific Northwest, Sierra, Idaho and Montana with an arctic cold front.

Colder temps are going to be prevalent in the northern Rockies allowing for higher snow ratios (snow to liquid) and good quality powder. We expect decent totals to also fall at the lower elevations of the ski areas during this storm cycle. Slightly warmer temps are noted for areas south into Utah and Colorado with less snow.

The Pacific Northwest will grab decent totals Wednesday to Thursday that current models favor the central and southern areas of Washington extending into most of Oregon. Winds from the SW eventually veer southerly which can provide good snowfall for Crystal, White Pass, and Mission Ridge on the east side of the Cascade Range. Most of Oregon will also score 12 plus inches from this storm.

Temps will be cold that will bring solid totals to many resorts that have seen many rain events this season. Mt Baker reported 5 inches on Monday morning with less to the south. The next system will favor the southern regions of Washington and most of the Oregon Cascades.

Aside from the above mentioned regions, expect to see the Sierra get into the action by Thursday morning favoring the northern Regions. Since this moisture is on the southern side of the storm any deviation in track will impact this region (Boom or Bust).

Other spots to watch will be the Panhandle of Idaho and most of central and southern Montana, especially near Bozeman that might sneak out close to double digits by Thursday.

We are still 4-5 days out from the main event, so the track can certainly change especially for the Sierra. who is on the southern end of this system.
