Smugglers' Notch in Vermont is running some numbers on the snow they have received recently, and it looks good when you see the hard-and-fast data.
Officials at Smuggs' report 6” in the past 24 hrs, 32” this week, and 53” in the past two 2 weeks. Best of all, there is up to 18” predicted to fall this weekend. See below.
That powder shot is insane. I mean, it's the East Coast, so we're adding a couple of bonus points there. Then again, do we really need to? Vermont has been having a heck of a season.
Smuggler's Notch has a "no BS" snow report, and it reports that there is currently a base of 26-40 inches from their snowmaking, and 14-18 inches of natural snow.
The resort has seen 221 inches of snow this season. Their average is 240 inches, so they could even end this season above average if a couple more storms come their way.
Well, as things would have it, the resort is predicted to see more new snow soon. Up to 6 inches on Saturday would dust things off nicely for this last weather pattern.
It won't tip the resort over their annual snowfall average, but there's still a little time. Regardless, skiers can enjoy the fresh feet that fell this week and look forward to a potential half a foot more.
