When Western Mass-raised Scott Stevens was coming up on the East Coast, Stratton Mountain was a mecca of snowboarding. It was the home of the US Open, of course, but many other local events also were held there (the annual on-snow demo was a big one for local reps and up-and-coming riders of the region).

Stratton's parks, its heritage, and its central Northeast location (an easy commute for New York, MA, CT, etc.--though no comment on the east-west drive times in New England) made it an nucleus of Boardworld in the 90s and 2000s.

The weekend of March 23rd, during year two of East Street Archives Homesick, Stratton was absolutely annihilated by snow; the resort received 30 inches on Saturday. So while this meant the flatbottom during the Powers Retro Pipe competition was more of a powder field (not great for speed but really great for fun), it also meant that some iconic area rails were open for business.

Scott Stevens snagged a caveman boardslide on the Stratton parking lot rail and posted the clip to his 'gram and the internet went wild, not only because of the difficulty of the trick, but also because of the nostalgia factor of the spot.

Forest Bailey grew up just down the road from Stratton and commented, "Dreamed about hitting that handrail my entire childhood".

Christian Connors, another Stratton-raised rider added, "The classic first hand rail".

@capitasupercorp re-shared the video, noting the classic board. Comment frenzy ensued again.

East Coast legend Joey B said, "#Homesick realsnow edition @eaststreetarchives".

Another moment from Homesick that reinforces the magic of this gathering from East Street Archives.
