Follow along here at Beyond Women’s Sports for the weekly attendance updates in the NWSL. This is the fifth report for the 2024 season, as the regular season began on March 16. The numbers reported below are up to and including all games through games on April 21. The NWSL saw an increase in teams for 2024 with the return of the Utah Royals and the expansion team Bay FC.

NWSL Attendance: Week in review

All fourteen teams were once again in action for the week of April 15 – 21. Five out of the seven games saw crowds of over 10,000 as the NWSL had its best week to date. Angel City and Kansas City once again had sellouts of 22,000 and 11,500 respectively. Orlando had the smallest crowd for the week with 7,701.

After five weeks, only three teams are below their 2023 final average. The Seattle Reign is currently the furthest below the 2023 average (-4,517). Meanwhile, San Diego is the furthest above their 2023 average (+3,688). Additionally, the league remains above 2023’s final average, now up 917.

Capacity numbers are provided by each team’s individual stadium’s website. Also reported are each team’s individual high and low games for the season. Finally, all attendance numbers are provided through the league’s website.

The Week Ahead

This coming weekend will once again see all fourteen teams in action. The featured double-header on ION on Saturday will see Portland head to Chicago followed by Bay FC taking on the San Diego Wave FC. On Friday, the first place Kansas City Current travel will travel to Los Angeles and face Angel City FC.
