Since his staggering £63m move from Lyon in 2019, Tanguy Ndombele’s journey at Tottenham has been plagued by unmet expectations.

His underwhelming performances have failed to impress several Tottenham managers in recent years.

He spent the last season on loan at Napoli and won the league title with them. But Napoli opted not to sign Ndombele permanently, citing his high valuation as a factor, with his asking price deemed too steep by Napoli director Cristiano Giuntoli.

Tottenham found it hard to find a suitor for him in the summer, but eventually loaned him out to Galatasaray.

However, his tenure in Turkey has been riddled with disciplinary issues and fitness concerns.

A recent incident, where Ndombele was caught violating a weight-loss program by ordering fast food and coke, led to a bust-up with the Galatasaray manager.

This resulted in the manager reportedly giving the club orders to send Tanguy Ndombele back to Tottenham Hotspur in January. The clubs were reportedly in talks to cancel his loan deal.

However, according to Turkish outlet Haberturk, following a ‘special meeting’ during the international break, Galatasaray manager is set to give the midfielder a ‘one last chance.’

Reportedly, a positive dialogue has prompted the manager to reconsider Ndombele’s situation, acknowledging improved recent attitudes and training performances.

The report adds that with an eye on their upcoming fixture against Alanyaspor this Saturday, Ndombele is poised to receive substantial playing time, with the club closely monitoring his on-field performance.

If Ndombele impresses during Saturday’s match, it could mark a crucial moment in his Turkish league career, offering him a chance for redemption. However, failure to meet expectations may lead to him being sent back to Tottenham Hotspur come January.
