Filippo Inzaghi feels that his brother Simone Inzaghi has proven to be “one of the best coaches in Europe” at Inter Milan.
The former AC Milan and Juventus striker praised his brother while speaking to Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.
Both Filippo and Simone Inzaghi had high-profile playing careers as strikers.
But it would be fair to say that the former had a more accomplished run during his playing days.
Simone’s playing career was certainly nothing to scoff at. The current Inter coach spent the bulk of it at Lazio, where he won the Serie A title as well as the Coppa Italia three times.
But Filippo won three league titles between Juventus and AC Milan. He also won the Champions League twice with the Rossoneri.
Moreover, Simone made a total of just three appearances for the Italian national team.
Filippo, by contrast, made 57 appearances for Italy. He won the World Cup with the Azzurri in 2006.

As a coach, however, it’s been the other way around.
Filippo has had a decent enough run in coaching since hanging up his boots. The former striker has done well with clubs like Venezia and Reggina.
But Simone has undoubtedly outshone his brother despite being less celebrated as a player.
The 48-year-old is now in his third season as Inter coach.
Inzaghi is on the cusp of winning his first Serie A title as a coach. That follows two Coppa Italia crowns, three in the Supercoppa Italiana, and a run to last season’s Champions League final.
That is on top of the stellar work that Simone did in charge of Lazio for over five years.
Filippo commented about his brother, “As I’ve always said, for me he’s proven that he’s one of the best coaches in Europe. Ever since he was at Lazio.”
“I’m happy for him,” the former striker and current coach said.
“Because he’s a serious guy. Football needs people like him.”
Asked if he’s been surprised by Inter’s form this season, Filippo replied “No.”
“Because they’ve deserved to be where they are now.”
“Apart from the results, they play good football. I follow what my brother is doing with great admiration.”
