AC Milan are monitoring the situation of Victor Lindelof at Manchester United.

The Italians are keen on reinforcing their defence in the summer and Fichajes believe they are plotting a move for the 29-year-old centre-back.

Lindelof is not one of Erik ten Hag’s first choice centre-backs and the Sweden international has been happy to play a bit part role for the time being. That could change if he is offered regular football at another top club and AC Milan certainly fall into that bracket.

The Italian giants are currently third in Serie A – behind Juventus and league leaders Inter Milan.

However, the Swede’s current deal at United expires in 2025.

Lindelof has featured in 21 matches this season which suggests that he is an important squad member, but we also need to strengthen defensively in the summer and that could mean that several defenders face the axe.

United are expected to offload several players in the summer and it wouldn’t be a surprise if the former Benfica defender was one leave.

Life at left-back

Lindelof has played at left-back in United’s last two matches due to Luke Shaw being injured.

It is far from ideal because Lindelof isn’t as comfortable on the ball as your typical full-back. He doesn’t send Marcus Rashford down the line like Shaw, or come into midfield to help out like the Englishman.

Truth be told, I’m not completely convinced by Lindelof at centre-back either.
