According to Tuttosport, Francesco Acerbi’s future at Inter remains uncertain given that the club didn’t like his media exposure during the latest tumultuous days.

Tuttosport reports Inter could part company with Italy international Acerbi at the end of the season. The Nerazzurri didn’t like how the experienced defender managed communication during a legal battle that led to his acquittal in a racism case.

According to the report, Inter had advised Acerbi to keep a low profile following Juan Jesus’ allegations but instead, Acerbi released two interviews. The first one was at the Milan train station when reporters waited for his return from Italy’s national team after his exclusion from the squad. The second interview with Il Corriere della Sera was released on Friday.

Several sources in Italy claimed Acerbi would have left Inter if he was found guilty of racism, but according to Tuttosport, the sports judge’s verdict may not change Acerbi’s future at San Siro.

According to the report, Inter have already identified two possible replacements for Acerbi: Torino centre-backs Perr Schurrs and Alessandro Buongiorno and Udinese‘s Jaka Bijol.

Acerbi’s Inter contract runs out in June 2025.
