The agent of Juventus midfielder Nicolo Fagioli has hit back at the player's father.

Marco Fagioli has blamed his son's agent with the youngster subject of an illegal betting investigation in Italy.

Now Marco Giordano has responded, telling La Repubblica: "The father says he wasn't aware of anything and points the finger at whoever looks after the player's interests.

"Some small agents talk about the bad management of multinational agencies. The only thing I can say is that our client had these problems prior to signing with us, the Caa Stellar. We were approaching summer and the first thing we did was to advise him to self-report and seek treatment.

"We are the largest agency in the world, but the relationship with our clients is close, continuous and personal. Nicol suffers from gambling addiction, a problem that arose when we were not the agents.

"Despite this, we decided not to leave him alone. So far from mismanagement, we helped him in every way. And I must say that he has behaved in an exemplary manner since he signed with us."
