Tottenham Hotspur could look to sign a full-back in the summer and Festy Ebosele has been mentioned as one of the potential names on the radar.

According to Alasdair Gold from Football London, Tottenham are looking at full-backs ahead of the summer transfer window, and the 21-year-old Irishman has popped up on their radar.

Tottenham have been tracking the defender for a while and they were keen on the youngster a couple of years ago. Since then, Ebosele has joined Italian club Udinese and he has established himself as a key player for them this season. The 21-year-old is capable of operating as a right-sided winger as well as a right-back. He could prove to be the ideal understudy to Pedro Porro in the coming seasons.

The opportunity to move to Tottenham could be an exciting one for him and it will be interesting to see if the North London outfit follows up on their interest with a concrete proposal to sign him. They have Emerson Royal at their disposal as well and it is fair to assume that they will have to sanction his departure before bringing in another right-back.

Festy Ebosele to replace Emerson Royal?

Ebosele would be a quality, long-term investment for them and the 21-year-old could develop into a key player with the right guidance. He will battle it out with Porro for the starting spot and it remains to be seen whether he can dislodge the Spaniard in the coming seasons. Porro has been an exceptional form this season and he has established himself as one of the best right-backs in the league.

It will be interesting to see if the Irishman is willing to take up the challenge to battle it out with a seasoned Premier League full-back for the starting spot next season.
