Alaves striker Samu Omorodion is confident of a future with Atletico Madrid.

Atletico signed Omorodion in August after he scored against them for Granada before immediately loaning him to Alaves for the season.

He said, "It is a dream for me to be in one of the strongest clubs in the world. I am grateful for the trust you had in me. Because it is not easy to sign a player who comes from the Segunda Division.

"Let them come and bet on you. (Diego) Simeone showed me his confidence, he knew I had a lot of potential and that I kept working, which is what he plays. And if one day he decides that I deserve to be a player in the squad, then I will always be grateful."

On comparisons with Diego Costa, Omorodion added: "Yes, I had heard that I was compared to Diego Costa. Being compared to a player who has made history at Atltico de Madrid is always appreciated. He has done a lot for Atleti and I also hope to do a lot for Atltico de Madrid. I hope to succeed in Atleti.

"First play in the Alavs, do things well and earn that position at Atltico de Madrid."
