Alexis Sanchez wouldn’t mind continuing his Inter return past this season, but Inter will wait to make the call on his future. His permanence depends also on outside factors, such as the price of his potential replacements, La Gazzetta dello Sport informs.

The Chilean veteran inked a one-year contract with €2.8M wages last summer. Even though he hasn’t always been healthy or lively in matches, he has repaid the small investment with his two Champions League goals.

Inter have kicked the can down the road, as there’s a chance they receive some offers for Alexis Sanchez in January. The attacker could find suitors in Saudi Arabia, the MLS, and Mexico. He said he’d be open to those destinations down the line in an interview.

The 34-year-old will prioritize the Nerazzurri and won’t entertain other proposals until there’s a chance he stays put. He has scored twice in 11 appearances so far.

Our Take on Inter and Alexis Sanchez

Since they have two studs as starters, there’s nothing wrong with going cheap with the backups. He has been fine and hasn’t been clamoring for more minutes like in his previous stint, plus his salary is manageable. Still, if they receive a bid, they’ll most likely take it.

Given the superior costs, Marko Arnautovic is more in peril than him. Their future might hinge on whether their rumored Mehdi Taremi chase will be successful. They are highly unlikely to keep three veteran backups.
