Manchester United are back in Champions League action tomorrow night.

The Reds must win against Atalanta to strengthen their chances of qualification for the Champions League knockouts, after starting slowly with one win from two matches. Plus, it would be extremely disappointing if we dropped into the Europa League again.

To make matters worse, United have been on a torrid run of form recently, from getting knocked out of the League Cup and losing matches in the league only to slip further down the table after what seemed to be a decent start on the opening day of the season, versus Leeds.

However, after beating Villarreal, Atalanta look to be the toughest test of United’s group.

Former Atalanta winger Amad has warned his United teammates not to underestimate the Serie A side.

“First of all, we must not underestimate Atalanta,” he told club media, as per ManUtd.com. “If you underestimate Atalanta, you are making a huge mistake. They have got a great coach, a great team and they have got good fans. They press high, they don’t let you play and they put you in difficulty.

“The wingers, [Robin] Gosens and [Ruslan] Malinovsky, are strengths of theirs, they will give you a difficult game. Even when they don’t have the ball, they will run a lot, especially those two. If you lose the ball, then you’re in trouble because they run so much and they’ll get it.”

While Amad is unlikely to start against his former side, he is likely to know quite a bit how they would approach teams like United, although he didn’t make too many appearances for the first team. The Ivorian was still breaking into the side when he joined United and would’ve went out on loan this season if it wasn’t for an injury he sustained days before the transfer deadline.

The youngster has yet to make an appearance for the first team this season and I reckon he will be sent on loan in January.
