Tottenham Hotspur’s academy standout Dane Scarlett may soon have the chance to showcase his talents on the first-team stage, with indications suggesting a potential appearance in the upcoming league fixture against Luton Town.

In recent times, Spurs have demonstrated a growing commitment to nurturing young talent from their academy, with Manager Ange Postecoglou actively integrating them into first-team training sessions.

Ashley Phillips, Alfie Dorrington, Alejo Veliz, Jamie Donley, and Mikey Moore have all been recently given the opportunity to transition from the youth side with opportunities to train alongside the first-team.

And now according to club insider and lawyer John Wenham, speaking to Tottenham News, claimed that Dane Scarlett might make a substitute appearance in Saturday’s home game against Luton.

Scarlett made a significant impression this international break scoring 5 goals in 2 games for his country. He scored a stellar second-half hat-trick for England U20s against Poland helping them to a 5-1 win.

He followed that with a brace against the Czech Republic a couple of days later.

Wenham backs Dane Scarlett to get some minutes against Luton

Wenham lauded Scarlett’s exceptional performance during the international break, highlighting his outstanding talent despite some fans overlooking him due to other young players like Jamie Donley.

He stated:

“Scarlett had a phenomenal international break.

“I was really pleased for him because I’ve seen some Tottenham fans downplay his potential as a result of the emergence of other young players such as Jamie Donley.

“Scarlett is still an amazing young talent and his form with England’s Under-20s tells you everything you need to know.

“Coming back to North London, his confidence will be flying high, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he was handed 20 minutes or so against Luton on Saturday.”

With Wenham suggesting the potential for a cameo appearance against Luton, Spurs fans eagerly anticipate witnessing Scarlett’s promising abilities in action at the senior level.
