Tottenham Hotspur have been plagued by injuries throughout this season, with almost the entire team experiencing various setbacks at different points.

The latest addition to the injury list is Spurs’ second-choice goalkeeper, Fraser Forster.

Ange Postecoglou revealed in his pre-game press conference that the 35-year-old shot-stopper has sustained a foot fracture, which will keep him out for a couple of months.

Speaking to the press, he said (via Football London):

“Probably the major one for us is Fraser Forster – got a knock in training, got a fracture in his foot. He’ll probably miss conservatively a couple of months.”

The England International is under contract with the Lilywhites until June 30 of the following year, with over a year remaining.

Forster joined the North London outfit from Southampton on a two-year contract in the summer of 2022 as a free transfer. However, in December of last year, his contract was extended until the summer of 2025.

Since his arrival, the veteran goalkeeper has made 21 appearances for Tottenham, conceding 29 goals while keeping six clean sheets.

The injury setback may not be a big concern for Ange, considering Vicario is the first choice keeper and has established himself as one of the best in the league.

However, in case there is an injury or suspension to Vicario, Spurs will be without an experienced goalkeeper and Postecoglou will have to rely on the club’s former academy player, Brandon Austin, to step into the role.
